Democracy Days at Kaiserin-Theophanu-School and Digital Democracy Days

Democracy Days at the Kaiserin-Theophanu-School
30 August to 01 September 2022 | Cologne

What ideas do you have for your school? What should change? What can you do to achieve this?

Under the travelling structure ‘Europe Dome’ we will discuss your possibilities for democratic participation at school. Together you will then develop your own ideas and work out strategies for democratic implementation.

More than 1,200 people in 13 countries have already met under the Europe Dome and exchanged their ideas for a sustainable society! We are looking forward to seeing you!

And for the first time ever, Democracy International is also offering a Back to Democracy – Escape Room 😉

Digital Democracy Theme Days – Welcome to the 21st Century! Democracy 2.0

14.09. – 16.09.2022 | Hanover

The digital revolution is transforming all of our lives in almost every area. But there is one notable exception: politics. Our democracy could do with an update!

From 14.09. to 16.09. Mehr Demokratie e.V. and Hannover City Library are organising the “Digital Democracy Days” under our travelling Europe Dome in Hannover city centre.

Our democracy is not in a bad position compared to the rest of the world, but it is getting on in years. And it is under attack: by populists, by fake news and by too many people who do not participate in the democratic debate.

There is too little exchange between the population and politics, and mutual trust is waning. How can the gap between “those up there” and “us down here” be narrowed? How can citizens get more involved? What role should referendums and citizens’ assemblies based on sortition play in this? What can we do against hate speech and fake news? When will digitalisation also reach politics? And what could a democracy update look like?

All these questions will be addressed at the “Digital Democracy Days”, to which we cordially invite school classes, politicians and all interested parties.
