Poli-Fest Tour
Whoever said politics are no fun has clearly never visited a political or social festival! In 2023, our Europe Dome will meet you at four exciting opportunities across Germany to dig deeper together. See you there!
weltwärts Festival | 31 May – 4 June | Göttingen
weltwärts is a global volunteering service enabling Germans to spend a year in the Global South and young people from the Global South to spend a year in Germany. It is offered by Engagement Global with funds from the German Federal Ministry for Development and Economic Cooperation.
weltwärts turned 15 this year and organises the festival to celebrate and bring together former German volunteers and non-German volunteers currently spending their service in Germany !
And it is a perfect opportunity for our project YEUF! Across the whole European Union YEUF mobilises young people to make their voice heard in the next European elections. Our Change Makers Obakeng and Gabriel will host discussions and sessions of EuroTrivia under the Europe Dome!
Sign up to the European Parliament’s election platform together.eu where we’ll publish our upcoming Change Maker Events across the 27 EU Member States! 😉
ColognePride – Christopher Street Day Festival and Demonstration | 7 – 9 July | Cologne
ColognePride is the joint demonstration of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, pansexuals, transsexuals, transgenders and intersexuals as well as their friends and all those who support them – and it’s a huge event in Cologne!
Living this year’s motto “FOR HUMAN RIGHTS – Many. Together. Strong!” Democracy International will organise various discussions with partners from our EU-funded projects Have Your Say in EU and chARTer around fundamental rights and democracy with activists from Tunisia to Ukraine and Denmark under the Europe Dome, show the exhibition Art of Fundamental Rights, and participate in Sunday’s demonstration as a 40-activist-strong foot group.
Democracy Festival | 19 August | Düsseldorf
With the festival, Democracy International, Mehr Demokratie and Düsseldorfer Jugendring bring young people together with politicians and local organisations, experience democracy in workshops, at information and participation stands and combine the whole event with art, culture, live music and fun! We look forward to celebrating democracy together with you!
The main topics of the festival are: Climate and democracy, anti-racism, intersectionality and other forms of discrimination, strategies against right-wing extremism and conspiracy myths, media competence and innovative forms of youth participation and co-determination.

Democracy Festival | 08 September | Cologne
Political meets cultural education: in discussion rounds, young people and politicians get to talk to each other, a colourful programme of different artists is created on stage, and action and participation booths draw attention to the diverse offers for young people to get engaged in Cologne.
We want to celebrate democracy and youth and increase interest in politics in a low-threshold way. Join us at Pariser Platz in Cologne Chorweiler!
